Off-Duty Deputy Request

Off-Duty Volusia sheriff’s deputies are available for hire for special events upon request from any citizen or business seeking to meet a permit requirement or address a public safety concern.  The primary intent of Extra-Duty assignments is to provide a supplementary service to the community by assigning off-duty, uniformed deputies to work security or traffic-related details. The business or citizen requesting this extra detail is required to pay for the deputy's service at a rate established by the Volusia Sheriff’s Office.

All Extra-Duty requests are screened by the Volusia Sheriff’s Office Extra-Duty Employment Coordinator and approved by the Volusia Sheriff's Command Staff. No Extra-Duty job will be authorized or accepted if a request places any restrictions on who may work the job based on race, color, religion, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, age, disability, or otherwise provided by law. submit2ting a request does not guarantee that your request will be filled.
