V1 reported she received a message on Facebook from a man who asked if she was interested in renting a house in Debary.

Over the course of several conversations, V1 purchased several gift cards and provided them to him. After he stopped returning messages, V1 suspected she was scammed.

V1 advised she received a message via Facebook several months ago and began talking with a man who posted as an active military member.

V1 provided the suspect with gift cards over three months’ time before realizing she was scammed.

RP advised he stopped to use the restroom at Rob Sullivan Park; upon returning to his work van, belonging to the City of DeBary, V1, he discovered it was missing.

Technology determined the stolen vehicle entered into Seminole County within a short time frame. Deputies responded and bolo'd the area.

Lt. Tucker located the vehicle and D1 near the Wawa gas station at 4660 W. S.R. 46, Sanford. D1 was subsequently placed under arrest.

District 6 deputies helped District 4 apprehend a carjacking suspect and recover the stolen vehicle.

V1, D1 and W1 reside together as a family unit. V1 is W1's mother and D1 is W1's boyfriend.

V1 confronted W1 and D1 about their narcotics use at the residence and not helping out around the house.

D1 became upset and armed himself with a machete. While armed with the machete, D1 shoved V1. V2 came to V1's defense and tackled D1.

During the scuffle, V2 sustained superficial lacerations to his left forearm and abdominal area. V1 captured the incident on video with a cell phone.

All parties involved refused medical treatment. D1 was arrested and transported to VCBJ.

V1 attempted to pull D1 into her bedroom as she was being disobedient. D1, a juvenile, became upset and slapped V1 multiple times.

W1 witnessed the incident and D1 confessed to pushing V1. D1 was charged accordingly and transported to the Volusia Family Resource Center.
