Deputies responded to 1119 3rd St regarding a suspicious person lying in the yard. Contact was made with Greg Salvatore (D1), who appeared highly intoxicated and was removed from the property without incident. Later, at 1221 3rd St, Greg reportedly armed himself with a kitchen knife and made suicidal and threatening statements toward another person. Greg was detained without further incident and had a superficial chest wound. No parties wished to pursue charges, though multiple witnesses confirmed Greg had pushed and slapped (V1). A knife was recovered and submitted as evidence, and video footage corroborating the incident was uploaded. Greg has a prior battery conviction and an active injunction. He was transported to Volusia County Branch Jail. Case documented under VSO case number 25-25170.

***Criminal Mischief to a Vehicle***CBA by Patrol***

V1 was parking his vehicle in a handicap spot at the neighborhood Walmart when D1 attempted to take the same parking space. After V1 got out of his vehicle, D1 exited his own and approached V1, initiating a verbal argument. D1 then left the scene and parked in a different spot. Minutes later, video surveillance showed D1 walking toward V1's vehicle and keying the passenger side, causing $2,500 worth of damage. D1 was identified through the video surveillance and investigative resources. When deputies made contact with D1, he admitted to keying the vehicle after being read his Miranda rights. D1 was arrested and transported to VCBJ.

On 11/21/2025 the construction site took delivery of a sealed bundle of 16' backboard trim. The bundle was broken down and placed inside several different construction zones to be used at a later date and were last seen intact on 12/05/2025 around 1430 hours. On 12/08/2025 around 0830 hours, the bundle of trim was found to be missing from the construction site.

While driving home from a night out, D1 became upset over the loss of his favorite football team. D1 began throwing things out of the vehicle, to include the football jersey he was wearing. D1 proceeded to strike V1, who was driving the vehicle. V1 was also bit on the head. D1 was dropped off at his residence before V1 notified LEO. D1 was contacted at his residence and charged accordingly.

Deputies responded to Walmart Neighborhood Market in DeBary regarding a shoplifting in progress. Loss Prevention Officer, R1 had detained D1, a known suspect in multiple prior retail thefts. Investigation revealed D1 skip-scanned $196.39 worth of merchandise, paying only $20.00 before exiting. Post-Miranda, D1 admitted to the theft and to a pattern of similar offenses dating back to October 2025. D1 was linked to four previous thefts (cases VP250024425, VP250024426, VP250024427, and VP250024428) totaling $520.47. Surveillance footage, sworn statements, and a photo lineup confirmed her identity in the prior investigations. Based on the totality of evidence, D1 was placed under arrest for the current offense (VP250024868) as well as the four prior retail theft cases. All relevant evidence was collected and submitted. D1 was transported to the Volusia County Branch Jail without incident.
