V1 was traveling north on South C.R. Beall Blvd., traveling at approximately 100 mph when his vehicle side-swiped another vehicle, causing him to lose control.

V1 crossed over into oncoming traffic and struck a concrete utility pole. V1 was pronounced deceased inside the vehicle.

V1 and D1 live in the residence as a family unit. V1 and D1 were in a verbal altercation that turned physical.  V1 advised D1 grabbed him by the neck. 

While deputies were on scene, D1 slapped V1 on the hand. Then D1 grabbed a towel that was soaked in urine, hitting V1 on the back of his head and shoulders.

D1 was arrested for Battery DV and transported to VCBJ.

N1 reported he left the residence around 1100 hours on today's date, and when he arrived home, he found his wife, V1, deceased.

Deputies located V1 in the bedroom with a suspected gunshot wound to the head from a rifle. The scene was secured and CID was notified.

V1 had an extensive history involving mental health issues.

Deputies responded to Gateway Park, 860 N. Charles R Beall Blvd., Debary, in reference to two found children.  V1 (8-year-old) and V2 (4-year-old) were dropped off at the park by D1 (grandmother).

RP advised the children were left at the park for approximately an hour without any supervision.  V1 and V2 did not have any way to contact their grandmother.

V1 and V2 were not left with anything to drink or eat despite the ambient temperature being 95 degrees.  D1 was arrested for Child Neglect x 2 and transported to the VCBJ. DCF and Director Quann were notified.
