Attempted Armed Carjacking/Armed Robbery/Assault and Battery with Deadly Weapon 

V1 was meeting S1 at the LOI to return property to V1. S1 got out of his white Mercedes and approached V1 who was sitting in her truck. S1 opened the truck, armed with a hatchet, and advised V1 to exit the vehicle to which she complied and took the truck keys with her. S1 tried to start the vehicle and observed the keys were missing which caused S1 to exit the vehicle and a physical struggle ensued where she was battered, threatened, and the keys were forcefully removed from her hands by S1. S1 then attempted to take the vehicle but when an additional witness came out he fled the scene in his vehicle after getting physical with him but the witness did not want to be a victim. Deputies located S1's vehicle with another witness, however after assistance from Alert 1 and K9 attempts to locate were unsuccesful. The Watch Commander was made aware and ISS responded out and assumed the investigation. A Pass Along Affidavit was completed for future attempts to locate S1.

W1 advised S1 was dropping off groceries at her residence. S1 began talking to her children and took a keen interest in V1, a 2-year-old female. While S1 was dropping off groceries, he asked W1 if he could kiss V1 on the cheek. Before V1 could reply, S1 kissed V1 on the cheek and left the residence.

W1 and V1 were sleeping when they heard a loud bang at the front of the house. Upon inspection they found that the front window had been shattered when their mailbox was thrown through it. W1 stated she heard a car engine and when she looked outside, she saw a Dodge Charger or Challenger driving away. Ring doorbell did not capture the incident. Case is active to Deputy Odgers

V1 and V2 were contacted by an unknown suspect. Currently, we are unsure of the details of the scam. The Bitcoin ATM is believed to be on Howland Blvd at a liquor store. V1 is unsure how much V2 has withdrawn from their account but believes it to be between $15,000-$18,000. V2 was not cooperative with the deputy and asked for someone to return on 07/09/2026 to complete the report. At the time of the initial report V1 is unsure if they want to proceed with the investigation and charges.

S1 attempted to take miscellaneous camping equipment worth $188.27 from Walmart. He was confronted by W1, abandoned the shopping cart with the items and fled the store. R1 followed the suspect to the parking lot where he saw him get into the passenger side of an awaiting Ford Explorer (FL tag 62IEZ). The vehicle then fled the scene toward SR 415. Case Active to Deputy Hughes.

Car Break

Sometime between 1415 hours and 1500 hours an unknown suspect(s) forced entry into V1's locked vehicle by smashing the driver's window. The suspect stole a lunch box with Apple Airpods which were located on the passenger floorboard. V1 was able to provide a serial number for the Airpods. The YMCA had no cameras pointed in the direction of the car break. There were no latent prints recovered. There were no witnesses. Case is active.
