V1 and D1 were involved in a verbal altercation over the household dog. During the altercation, D1 armed herself with a knife, and placed V1 in fear while he was holding their child. D1 was taken into custody and charged with two counts of DV aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and child neglect.  Director Quann and DCF were notified.

D1 and V1 are juvenile daughter and mother, who live together as a family unit. D1 was acting out and proceeded to throw several items in the direction of V1.

V1 then called law enforcement and, upon hanging up, D1 attempted to grab the phone from V1, causing a scuffle. V1 suffered a small laceration to her finger, which did not require medical attention.

D1 was subsequently arrested for battery (DV). Director Quann was notified and D1 was transported to the Volusia Family Resource Center.
