V1 and D1 were in a verbal altercation over D1 possibly having a narcotics dealer coming by the residence. V1 went to leave with their infant child and D1 began to push her trying to prevent her from leaving. V1 went to call 911 and D1 snatched the phone from her and began to strangle her. V1 was able to break free which is when deputies heard the struggle and were able to make entry through the unlocked door and intervene. D1 was taken into custody without incident.

R1 advised D1 was observed at self-checkout pretending to scan items and then placing them into his shopping basket totaling $17.17. D1 was contacted by R1 and escorted to the loss prevention office where they awaited the arrival of deputies. D1 was contacted and confessed to the crime. D1 was given a NTA and released on his own recognizance. All of the items were recovered and returned to Walmart.
