T/L- 12/04 b/w 0400 and 0406 hours.  V1 left her vehicle, a 2020 Hyundai Elantra (FL tag), unlocked in the driveway of the location of the incident.  The vehicle was subsequently stolen b/w 0400 and 0406 hours. 

Later, on 12/04, DBPD spotted the vehicle around Seneca and Willis and were able to make an arrest of the driver (D1).  D1, age 17, admitted to stealing the vehicle because he was tired of walking around and was cold.

Time Lapse- 11/12/24. The time lapse is because the incident was not reported in a timely manner. V1 and D1 were in a line together at the jail.

D1 got out of line, snuck up behind V1, and punched him on the side of his head, causing him to go briefly unconscious and fall to the ground.

This was captured on camera. D1 confessed to the incident because he was mad because V1 allegedly threw urine on him during an unreported incident during a previous stay at the jail.

D1 has previous battery convictions and was arrested for the applicable felony offense.

V1 and S1 are a married couple and live together as a family unit.  S1, who has mental health issues, woke V1 up while she was sleeping because he thought mysterious people were under the bed. 

This subsequently led to a verbal confrontation and V1 wanted to leave the house.  S1 temporarily stood in front of a doorway and pushed V1 to keep her from leaving.

When V1 said she was going to call police, S1 fled the scene on foot prior to LEO arrival.  A pass-on 707 was completed.

Justice Center security staff notified deputies of a vandalism in progress in the parking lot.  

Judicial deputies, D3 North Patrol and DBPD responded and apprehended D1 a short distance away as he attempted to flee the scene.

The investigation revealed D1 utilized a piece of concrete to shatter the windows of three vehicles in the parking lot for no apparent reason. D1 also entered one of the vehicles and stole a phone charging cable.

D1 was arrested for all applicable offenses. D1 is also on probation for criminal mischief which was on-view violated. D3N’s chain of command was notified.

Deputies responded to a CPR call for a 1-month-old. Deputies performed CPR on V1 until medical arrived and took over. V1 was transported to an area hospital for further treatment. The staff advised V1 will be transported to an Orlando hospital for additional care.  

The home had no power and V1 was last seen sleeping in a plastic tote with blankets inside, used as a makeshift crib.

CID was notified and responded. DCF and Director Quann were notified.
