T/L- 03/15/2025.  V1 and D1 are both incarcerated at DJJ.  A verbal altercation over a card game turned physical when D1 punched V1 in the head.  V1 was taken to the hospital where it was determined that he (V1) had sustained a concussion.  D1 was arrested for the applicable offense and remains at DJJ.  Director Quann was made aware of the incident.

District 4 Deputies had a white BMW flee, get on I4, and head towards Daytona Beach. The information was provided to D3N and DBPD. DBPD was able to get eyes on the vehicle and with multiple units in the area the BMW was located and D1 taken into custody without incident. Carla Quann was contacted reference to him being identified as a juvenile. D1 was turned over to D4 Deputy for their charges and DBPD had charges as well.

V1 (5 yoa female) was transported to 703 due to being unresponsive and having agonal breathing. Deputies responded due to age/medical complaints and upon arrival of 703, medical personnel were giving V1 Narcan, which she responded to. Due to a possible overdose, CID was notified and responded. During the investigation, it was determined V1 had a possible head injury the day prior which could be a contributing factor but nothing to substantiate a cause for her medical issues today. V1 was flown to Arnold Palmer for further treatment and CID took over the investigation.

D1 and V1 were riding in D1's car together.  They got into an argument and D1 told V1 to get out of the car.  She complied but D1 exited the car and continued to yell at V1 and her (V1's) boyfriend.  The altercation turned physical when D1 punched V1 in the arm against her (V1's) will.  D1 was arrested for felony battery due to a prior battery conviction and taken to VCBJ.
