T/L- 05/23/2026 to 06/04/2026.  This is an ongoing issue at the LOI because it is a residence that has been vacant for over one (1) year.  There is also a prior report where an unknown suspect(s) had broken the rear door of the LOI which V1 stated they never repaired; therefore, leaving the home unable to be secured.  Investigation into this incident revealed unknown suspects caused more damage to the LOI by breaking some exterior windows and spray painting a few interior walls.  The LOI is in deplorable condition and not inhabitable.  Deputies collected a bag possibly left behind by the unknown suspect(s); however, there are no witnesses nor any known video surveillance to aid in the investigation.  V1 completed a trespass authorization for the LOI should deputies be called back to the location and able to catch anyone on the property.

During a lawful traffic stop, an individual was arrested for a traffic violation and determined to be an illegal immigrant from Honduras. ICE was contacted and placed a detainer on the subject. Appropriate notifications were made, and the subject was transported to VCBJ without incident.

T/L- 05/29/2026.  V1, who is 90 years old, received a pop-up message on their (V1's) computer with instructions to call a telephone number to get things resolved.  Unfortunately, V1 contacted the number provided which was allegedly to a Truist bank representative.  That contact resulted in V1 being forwarded to an alleged FBI representative who told V1 they needed to withdraw 16K in cash and deposit it into a bitcoin machine.  V1 was only able to withdraw 10K, and the bitcoin deposit made.  This unknown scammer then tried to convince V1 to buy 134K in gold; however, V1 did not and contacted law enforcement.  This case will be sent to the VSO Financial Crimes Unit for review.

V1, who is a juvenile, ran away from the above location sometime between 1730 hours on 05-30-2026 and 0900 hours on 05-31-2026. V1 left a note stated he wanted to live his life and not be grounded for the summer. Efforts were made to contact juvenile but met with negative results. Director Quann made aware and juvenile entered into FCIC/NCIC.

T/L- 05/31/2026 @ 0608 hours.  An unknown white male, wearing a red shirt, black shorts, black baseball cap, yellow sneakers and riding a yellow bicycle, stole a boat cover from the LOI.  V1 overvalued the boat cover (saying it was $500 brand new) and the event was captured on video surveillance.  V1 later contacted the VSO saying that she had observed the yellow bicycle (unattended) near the LOI.  Deputies responded to the area and did not locate the rider (i.e., the possible perpetrator).  The bicycle was processed and collected as evidence.
