V1 and D1 are involved in a domestic relationship.  A verbal altercation turned physical when D1 threw a Mountain Dew bottle at V1, striking him in the face.

V1 and S1 are girlfriend and boyfriend of 18 months and live together as a family unit. On 04/29/2024, V1 and S1 were wrestling, as they commonly do in a playful manner.

S1 then became angered and began yelling obscenities at V1. V1 told S1 to "back off" several times as he aggressively approached V1. Fearing S1 was going to strike V1, she struck him in the face to create distance and depart the residence.

S1 then punched V1 in the head several times. V1 ran out of the residence, where S1 followed V1, tackled her on the rear deck, grabbed her phone, and threw it on the ground, breaking it.

V1 was able to leave the residence and meet with law enforcement. S1 refused to exit the residence. A criminal history revealed S1 had a prior conviction for battery.

S1 was determined to be the primary aggressor and probable cause was established to charge S1 with felony battery- second subsequent time, criminal mischief greater than $1,000, and robbery by sudden snatching.

Numerous attempts were made to apprehend S1, which were met with negative results. Arrangements were made for V1 to relocate for the evening. A pass-on affidavit was completed and forwarded to oncoming shifts.

District 3 South deputies assisted the Eastside Detectives Unit with an active missing person's investigation.

D1 arrived at Wind Walker's Leather Shop and loitered under the covered porch of the closed business. The business owner, O1, exited the business and asked D1 to move along. D1 responded by throwing her open beer at O1.

When the first deputy, V1, arrived, D1 was directed to sit down while the investigation was conducted. D1 was belligerent and refused the deputy's direction. D1 aggressively approached V1, at which time, V1 attempted to secure D1 in handcuffs.

D1 struck V1 with a bag she clutched in her left hand. During the altercation, D1 threw a metal chair at V1, and was subsequently tased twice. O1 refused to pursue charges for being battered.

D1 was arrested and charged with resisting arrest with violence and battery on a law enforcement officer. V1 and D1 were treated on scene by fire rescue and D1 was cleared at Advent Health New Smyrna Beach.

V1 ingested Oxycodone and cocaine, stating he wanted to kill himself. V1 was transported to an area hospital.

Upon further investigation, R1 also advised V1 wanted to shoot himself and had access to firearms. A Risk Protection Order will be completed The watch commander and chain of command were notified.

R1 advised V1 left the residence approximately 24 hours ago. R1 discovered V1 left his cell phone, wallet and all means of transportation at the residence. 

R1 advised V1's firearm was missing, along with some ammunition. VSO and NSBPD searched local transient camps and wooded areas with no success. Air One and TCI arrived on scene, yielding negative results. V1 was entered as a Missing Person (Endangered) into NCIC/FCIC.
