A 13-year-old 7^th-grader has been having a rough school week. R1, her teacher, advised O1 was told to take a walk to cool off and upon her return, she stated that she was "going to commit a school shooting."

There was no direct subject of the threat, and there wasn't any specific mention of a weapon. Parents were made aware and responded to the school.

Director Quann was notified. Due to being a verbal threat and not causing any class disruption, the incident was documented. SRD sergeants were notified.

A gun safety brochure was provided to parents.

V1 and D1 are in a dating relationship, have a child in common and reside together as a family unit.  A verbal altercation turned physical when D1 dumped trash on V1’s head.

D1 was arrested for the applicable offense and taken to the Volusia County Branch Jail.
