The Crime Suppression Team conducted proactive enforcement in the Spring Hill area of Deland where subject and traffic stops were conducted, which resulted in the seizure of 40.5 grams of cocaine, 14.1g marijuana, 0.9g meth, and drug paraphernalia.

CST also made five arrests and issued 12 citations.  All overtime was funded through the FDLE Project Safe Neighborhoods grant program.

V-1, D-1 and D-2 are neighbors and got into a physical fight that started when D-1 and D-2 confronted V-1 in the roadway about a neighborhood feud the three were having.

D-1 and D-2 began physically attacking V-1, which caused V-1 to sustain swelling and lacerations to his face.

The incident was witnessed by W-1, W-2 and W-3, who were sitting on their front porch during the altercation. Deputies on scene established probable cause and placed D-1 and D-2 under arrest. ***Closed by arrest.***

V1 and D1 are longtime boyfriend/girlfriend and reside together. V1 and D1 had an argument which turned physical when D1 struck V1 in the face.

V1 sustained a bloody nose and deputies observed blood in the hotel room. D1 was arrested for simple battery-DV. V1 was discovered to have an open warrant and arrested accordingly.

D1 went to V1's residence and began to bang on the window forcefully, before it broke. Deputies located D1 and placed her under arrest for vandalism, along with resisting arrest w/o violence.

While in custody, D1 began to complain of chest pains. EVAC responded and D1 was given a Notice to Appear.

N1 put V1, an 11-month-old baby, down for a nap between 1200-1300 hours. At approximately 1556 hours, N1 discovered V1was not breathing and was unresponsive. Deputies and medical personnel responded and began lifesaving efforts.

V1 was transported to the hospital in Deland where lifesaving efforts continued. At 1705 hours, lifesaving efforts proved ineffective and V1 was pronounced deceased. Director Quann, DCF, the watch commander and on-call CID were notified. A thorough investigation found no suspicious circumstances and no signs of trauma, abuse or neglect. The medical examiner will determine the official cause of death.
