R1 received a call from S1 who claimed to be a bail bondsman. S1 told R1 his brother-in-law was arrested and R1 needed to bail him out of jail. R1 sent $1200 through Zelle to S1 before realizing he was scammed. Deputies called the number and a female answered the phone and confirmed her first and last name.

***Noteworthy event***

V1 was cleaning a deer in his front yard. While cleaning the deer, the knife slipped away from where V1 was cutting, and he stabbed himself in the stomach. V1 drove himself to Station 42 located at 1885 North Kepler Road. V1 was treated on scene by fire rescue personnel and was later transported to the Halifax Hospital in Daytona Beach for further evaluation. Deputies responded to the residence and observed the deer hanging in the front yard.  Paramedics advised injuries were non-life threatening.

Deputies responded to the residence in reference to a 911 check/hang up involving a juvenile. While speaking with D1 the deputies could smell an odor associated with trash coming from within the home. D1 allowed deputies access into the home for a well-being check. Deputies observed trash, animal urine, and feces on most of the floors inside. V1 and V2 were observed wearing severely soiled diapers that had not appeared to have been changed for a significant amount of time. Director Quann and DCF were notified. DCF responded to the scene and temporarily placed V1 and V2 into custody of O1. D1 and D2 were arrested and transported to jail. Case Status: CBA.

V1 noticed there were two Blink camera alerts on her cell phone at approximately 0300 hours. April observed camera footage which showed an unknown white male (S1) trespassing on April's property at approximately 0300. The male was observed in the footage attempting to open the door via the handle to the residence and April's 1998 Chevrolet truck. S1 was unable to make entry into the residence or conveyance and subsequently left the property. V1 was asleep inside of the residence when S1 attempted entry. S1 did not take any items. Neighborhood canvass met with negative results.

D1 confronted V1 at his place of work (Essex Seafood) due to a previous issue between them.  D1 approached V1 inside of the kitchen at which time D1 punched V1 in the face with a closed first and then placed him in headlock.  D1 pulled V1 outside while still being placed in a headlock at which time V1 started to lose oxygen to his brain and began to black out.  D1 continued to punch V1 in the face before letting V1 go and flee the area. VCFS responded to the scene to treat V1 for his injuries. Deputies met with D1 at his residence where he admitted to the argument and battery against V1.  D1 was placed under arrest and transported to VCBJ.

D1 and V1 are dating and reside together as a family.  During an ongoing disagreement over narcotics use, V1 alleged D1 struck her head off of the interior of D1's vehicle and stabbed her in the forearm with a razor blade. V1 had injuries supporting her account of the incident. Witnesses on scene were uncooperative.  Based upon the evidence and statements gathered during the investigation, D1 was arrested for aggravated battery DV. Closed by arrest.

V1, mother, and D1, her 14-year-old son, live together as a family. They were involved in a verbal altercation regarding behavioral issues at D1's school. The situation escalated when D1 became physical, pulling V1's hair and striking her on the left side of her forehead with his Volusia County School laptop. V1 expressed her fear of D1 and stated that she does not want him to return to their home. Contact was made with D1, who admitted to hitting V1. D1 was taken into custody and transported to the FRC. Director Quann was notified, and a copy of the incident report was submitted to DCF.

V1 and S1 live together as a family unit. They were involved in a verbal altercation that escalated into a physical confrontation. S1 slapped V1's phone out of his hands and then charged at him, striking him and pushing V1 onto the couch. S1 continued to hit V1 and then grabbed V1 by the neck with both hands. When deputies arrived on the scene, S1 had already left the residence. V1 sustained several scratches on his neck, back, and arms. Director Quann was notified of the incident, and a pass-on affidavit was completed.

V1 and D1 are a father and daughter living together as a family. They were involved in a verbal altercation regarding V1's poor grades. In an attempt to punish V1, D1 took away her designer bag and other belongings. When V1 tried to retrieve her items, she was unsuccessful. D1 then grabbed V1 by both wrists, crossing her arms and restricting her movement. As a form of punishment, D1 decided to cut V1's hair extensions, which he had paid for. V1 tried to resist, but D1 was able to cut several extensions from her hair. Deputies observed bruising on V1's wrists and arms. They contacted D1, who was subsequently arrested and transported to the VCBJ. Director Quann was notified, and a copy of the report was sent to DCF.

V1 and D1 live together as a family unit. They have been experiencing issues related to infidelity and are currently undergoing therapy. During a recent therapy session, V1 hurt D1's feelings, which prompted D1 to want to discuss the matter. 

D1 entered V1's RV, insisting on having a conversation about the therapy session. V1 asked D1 to leave the RV, and in response, D1 began to punch V1 in the chest. D1 admitted to hitting V1. As a result, D1 was arrested and transported to VCBJ.

R1 reported on 9/27/2026, V1 was battered by D1 during his visitation at D1's residence in DeLand. R1 and V1 stated D1 became upset with V1 while consuming alcohol after V1 called his sibling a name. D1's actions exceeded parental discipline when he grabbed V1 by the neck, threw him against the wall, and again into chair. V1 sustained minor injuries consistent with R1 and V1's provided statements. R1 completed a sworn written statement detailing she wished to pursue criminal charges. Digital photographs of V1's injuries were collected. All necessary DV paperwork was completed and signed. D1 was contact at his residence and admitted to striking V1 but claimed it was strictly related to parental discipline. D1 was arrested and transported to jail. Case Status: CBA.

Between Monday, September 28th , 2026 at approximately 1630 hours and Tuesday, September 29th, 2026, at approximately 0900 hours an unknown suspect entered the Utility Line Construction Services (ULCS) station located at 1875 Riley Pridgeon Road, Astor, Florida and took the following items from a powerline work vehicle: 50 feet of 4/O copper insulated ground wire, 200 feet of #4 coated copper wire, (1) Milwaukee M18 Fuel Fence Stapler, (1) Milwaukee M18 7/16 Hex Drill, and (1) Milwaukee M18 Grinder. The unknown suspect entered through a locked gate and into the side compartments of the vehicle. Currently there is no suspect or vehicle information at the time.  An Intelligence bulletin was created.
