V1 parked his vehicle in the driveway on 04-19-2024, at approximately 1600 hours. V1 heard the dogs barking between 0330-0400 hours.

V1 went outside in the morning and discovered the right front passenger door was cracked open. V1 discovered his wallet, which had contained cash, on the seat and its contents scattered about.

W1 observed a bicycle in front of their detached garage. V1 and W1 observed D1 standing by the side door. V1 called out to D1, who claimed he lived in the garage. V1 confirmed no one should be in the garage.

D1 fled the area on a bicycle prior to law enforcement arriving. A check of the garage yielded several toolboxes rummaged through but nothing missing.

Deputies, LHPD and DeLand PD established a perimeter and located D1 riding a bicycle at the intersection of Orange Camp/S. Blue Lake, traveling away from the residence. W1 conducted a show-up and positively identified D1 as the subject seen inside the garage.

D1 was placed under arrest for burglary. D1 was also in possession of narcotics paraphernalia and was charged accordingly.

Deputies responded to a call in reference to multiple people in a fight. While separating everyone, D1 open-hand slapped V1.

D1 was taken into custody and observed to have a laceration to his head. It was discovered D1 was struck in the head by D2 with a bottle prior to the previous altercation. D2 fled the area due to being on probation but was later located several houses away.

V1, D1 and D2 are all blood relatives and reside at the same residence as a family unit. D1 was placed under arrest for simple battery-DV.

 D2 was placed under arrest for Aggravated battery. D2 was additionally arrested for VOP (VSO 24-8900).

V1 and D1 were in a verbal altercation. The altercation became physical. D1 armed herself with a knife and began attempting to stab V1. D1 cut V1's right wrist.

W1 corroborated the incident. D1 was placed under arrest for aggravated battery-DV. D1 was found in possession of half of a pill, identified as Suboxone. D1 was additionally charged with possession of a controlled substance.

The Crime Suppression Team assisted detectives by locating a car-break suspect vehicle with four occupants.  The vehicle was sealed and transported to Evidence and one subject was arrested.  Additional charges are forthcoming following further investigation by detectives. 

CST later assisted Patrol with several priority calls.

V1 observed D1 on his property removing ferns and placing them into an unknown passenger vehicle. V1 observed this on a game camera.  D1 also removed the game camera, which captured the images. 

V1 gets the images sent to him as the camera captures images every 30 minutes.  V1 knows D1, due to prior thefts of ferns from his property.  D1 is also suspected in July 2023 of stealing approximately $1000 of ferns, which captured images of him as well.  V1 provided the photos of D1 on the property with the ferns inside the vehicle. 

The investigation was continued.  D1 was subsequently arrested on 04-20-2024, for DWLS Habitual and was transported to VCBJ.  Since D1 was already in custody, the deputy continued to follow up on the initial grand theft case and developed probable cause to arrest D1 for the offense. 

D1 was notified of new charges and re-arrested at that time.

The Crime Suppression Team assisted CID with locating and apprehending an aggravated assault suspect.  Upon locating his vehicle, a traffic stop was conducted and almost 10g of cocaine and 90g of marijuana were recovered, in addition to the warrant arrest.

CST later focused efforts in the S.R. 44 and Shell Rd area in response to recent car breaks nearby.

The Crime Suppression Team assisted Probation with an offender check in which narcotics paraphernalia was located. The case led to a search warrant by WVNTF and two arrests. CST later participated in a crime suppression operation with Holly Hill PD, which yielded five arrests by D2 CST deputies.

V1 was riding his motorized bicycle on W. Euclid @ Old New York Av at a high rate of speed when he was about to cross the train tracks. V1 veered off the roadway and lost control, which caused him to be thrown off his bicycle.

The driver of a Lincoln Town Car was traveling on Old New York Ave. and as V1 was thrown from his bik,e the Lincoln's right front bumper struck V1.

V1 was lying in the roadway bleeding from his head and ears. It also appeared his arm was broken. Deputies attempted to identify V1 with rapid ID, but were unable to complete it due to his injuries.

FHP arrived and assumed the investigation; it was last reported that V1’s injuries were life-threatening.  The victim’s identity was unknown at this time.

O1 was upset because O2's vehicle bumped her vehicle’s front bumper. V1 arrived on scene and observed a crowd forming against O1.

V1 got in between O1 and the crowd to try to separate them. The crowd began to become more aggressive, causing V1 to push back to gain distance.

S1, an unknown female bystander who was part of the aggressive crowd, threw a glass bottle that struck V1 in the head, causing a laceration. S1 fled the area prior to law enforcement arrival.

V1 was treated medically on scene. Case status: Active.
