V1 and D1 are husband/wife and were in an argument about V1 leaving in a Lyft. During the argument, D1 forcibly pulled V1 out of the Lyft. This was witnessed and reported by the Lyft Driver. V1 left the area prior to LEO arrival and was uncooperative when deputies asked to meet in person. D1 admitted to the argument but denied touching V1. D1 was arrested for simple battery-DV.

V1 and D1 were in a verbal argument over mannerisms. The altercation escalated when D1 displayed a pocketknife and threatened V1 before fleeing on foot. Deputies located D1 shortly thereafter and he was taken into custody.

D1 started a verbal argument with V1 over bills. D1 threatened to kill V1 and began to chase her, as she sought refuge in her bedroom and called 911. V1 provided a video detailing the incident, which was consistent with her allegations.

V-1 was found unresponsive lying on the ground at a property he maintains for an elderly female. V-1 was transported to Advent Health, Deland, where he was pronounced deceased. CID was notified and responded.

D-1 entered the Walmart Neighborhood Market (955 S Woodland Blvd, Deland), where he selected several items inside. D-1 then walked to the back of the store, where he concealed said merchandise. D-1 then exited the store, making no attempt to pay for any of the concealed merchandise. The incident was witnessed by Loss Prevention, who is familiar with D-1 through past shoplifting incidents. D-1 was later located and was subsequently placed under arrest and charged accordingly.

V1 and D1 were in a verbal argument over items alleged to be stolen from the property. During the argument, D1 threated to kill V1 and V2, then set a fire inside a bedroom in V1's motorhome. VCFS extinguished the small fire and no parties were injured. Watch Commander, Fire Marshal, and ISS were notified & responded. D1 was arrested for Arson and Aggravated Assault.

V-1 and D-1 are brother and sister who engaged in a verbal argument over D-1 physically disciplining V-1's child, V-2. During the argument, D-1 struck V-1 in the face. D-1 admitted to hitting V-2 because he was acting out. D-1 has no parental rights to nor is allowed to discipline V-2. V-1 sustained injuries consistent with her statement. Deputies established probable cause, placed D-1 under arrest, and charged him accordingly. Director Quann and DCF were notified.

***Pass-Along Affidavit***

V-1 was confronted by his ex-wife's, new boyfriend, S-1 at V-1's residence. A verbal argument ensued between V-1 and S-1, at which time S-1 shoved V-1, which was captured by V-1's home security cameras. Deputies established probable cause and completed a pass-along affidavit, as S-1 lives outside of Volusia County. All attempts at contacting S-1 via telephone were met with negative results.

V1 stated he owns a 2010 Nissan Frontier, bearing Florida tag Z596YS which is a ranch vehicle. The vehicle never leaves the property and is stored with the windows down and the keys in it. V1 last saw the vehicle on 05/31/25 at 1900 hours. V1 checked with all persons who have access to the vehicle, and they denied being in possession of the vehicle.

The vehicle was entered as stolen, and a technology check showed the vehicle traveling east of n SR 44 at Carlis Rd on 05/31/25 at 2002 hours. No video surveillance or witnesses were located.

***Stolen/Recovered Firearm***

V1 was contacted by Deland PD who located her Smith & Wesson M&P Shield firearm (S/N: HR55494) after S1 and S2 fled from them and VSO deputies in a vehicle on 5/9, bailed from the vehicle and hid in S1's residence (DL250001895 & 25-9606). The firearm was located during the execution of a search warrant. Deland PD encouraged V1 to report the firearm lost/stolen. V1 advised the firearm was her purchased for her son who is now in the military, but she last saw it in February in the safe. It is currently unknown how S1 and S2 came into possession of the firearm. Case status: Active.
