For after-hours media inquiries on major breaking news, please email agant@volusiasheriff.gov. 

News releases on major incidents will be sent to our media distribution list as soon as circumstances allow, and those releases and other updates are posted on the VSO Facebook page, Twitter account and website.

For limited, basic information on active calls in progress, members of the news media may call the 24/7 media line at the VSO Communications Center: (386) 323-3533.

The Volusia Sheriff's Office does not operate Corrections or the Volusia County Branch Jail. Information about the Volusia County Branch Jail and Volusia County Correctional Facility is available at: https://www.volusia.org/services/public-protection/corrections/jail-and-bond-information.stml.

While the Volusia Sheriff's Office has countywide jurisdiction, the agency's primary jurisdiction is unincorporated Volusia County and the cities of Deltona, DeBary, Pierson and Oak Hill, where VSO is the contracted law enforcement service provider. Note: For media inquiries regarding incidents that occur within a city's jurisdiction, please contact the appropriate municipal police department for information.
