Video: Drug dealer, property owner arrested after DeLand search warrants

Several suspects were arrested and large amounts of drugs and guns recovered following a pair of search warrants in the DeLand area.

First, 3 people were arrested at 769 Grant Ave., DeLand: Property owner Richard Frisbee (maintaining a property for drug sales and possession of paraphernalia), and occupants Ashley Kersey (possession of narcotics and paraphernalia) and Samuel McDonald (possession of cocaine and paraphernalia).

That was followed by another successful search warrant in DeLand, this time at 960 E. Pennsylvania Ave. It turned out that one of the targets there (Samuel McDonald) was already in custody at 769 Grant Ave.

From the 960 E. Pennsylvania search warrant, detectives recovered about 3.5 kilos cocaine, 750 grams fentanyl, 112 grams crack, Oxycodone, Hydrocodone and Suboxone, cash and 7 firearms including one fully automatic rifle.

The main target, Michael T. Harris Jr., a known drug trafficker already on federal probation, had left the property but was arrested a short time later while going fishing at DeLeon Springs State Park.

Harris (who carries 52 prior charges and 16 convictions) is charged with armed trafficking in cocaine, fentanyl and Oxycodone, manufacturing fentanyl and cocaine, possession of Schedule II and III narcotics within 1,000 feet of a park or school, 8 counts possession of a firearm or ammunition by a convicted felon, possession of a short-barreled rifle, possession of Oxycodone with intent to sell inside a state park, and possession of paraphernalia.

The others arrested at Pennsylvania Ave were Ashley Hereid (possession of cocaine, fentanyl, Schedule III and paraphernalia) and Justin McClain-McDonald (possession of fentanyl and paraphernalia).
