Video: Detectives investigating Pierson shooting that injured 1; suspect sought

Detectives are investigating a shooting that injured a man Friday evening in Pierson.

Deputies responded to the shooting outside 653 Glenhaven Ave. around 6:20 p.m. The first responding deputy found the adult male victim conscious and alert with a gunshot wound to his neck. He was in the driver's seat of a minivan parked in the driveway.

The deputy held pressure to the wound until additional units and EMS arrived.

The victim was transported to an area hospital, where he was in serious but stable condition and expected to make a full recovery.

The investigation identified the shooting suspect as a coworker who walked up to the vehicle, shot the victim and ran away. He has not been located at the time of this post, and the investigation is ongoing.

CASE UPDATE (9/3/25): Augustin Hernandez Gonzalez, 45, has an active felony warrant for attempted homicide in Friday's shooting that injured his co-worker in Pierson.

He walks with a noticeable limp and has two prominent tattoos, a skull on his right hand and Virgin Mary on his upper left tricep. He has connections to the Pierson, Crescent City and Seville areas.
