Update: Pedestrian Dies Following DeBary Crash

Update: Sadly, the 24-year-old female pedestrian injured in this crash did not survive her injuries. She was transported to the hospital in critical condition but was unable to recover. The Sheriff's Office sends its sincere condolences to her loved ones.

Update: Traffic has reopened. The initial results of the crash investigation indicate the pedestrian (24-year-old female) was in the northbound lanes of 17-92 shortly before 7 a.m. when she was struck by a vehicle.

The pedestrian was transported to an area hospital for treatment of injuries and was listed in critical condition.

The driver of the vehicle remained on scene and cooperated with the investigation. There were no immediate signs of impairment or high speed. A full crash investigation will be completed.
