SILVER ALERT ISSUED FOR MISSING DELTONA WOMAN, 72

A Silver Alert has been issued and sheriff’s deputies are asking for the public’s help in locating a missing 72-year-old Deltona woman with memory loss who didn’t return home today after a trip to the bank. Her last known location was in St. Johns County.

Joy E. Harrop of Newmark Drive, Deltona, was last seen around 9 a.m., when she left home to go to a bank in Orange City. Ms. Harrop has gotten lost while driving before. Today, using License Plate Reader technology, deputies were able to determine she was in the Ponte Vedra Beach area near Jacksonville, headed north, around 5:35 p.m.

Her vehicle is a tan 2000 Honda Civic with Florida tag Z78 1NA and a square decal on the bottom left of the back window. Ms. Harrop was last seen wearing a red shirt, blue jacket and khaki pants.

Anyone who spots her or her vehicle is asked to call 911.
