DETECTIVES INVESTIGATING ARMED ROBBERY AT ORMOND-AREA GAS STATION

Volusia sheriff’s detectives are investigating the Monday night armed robbery of an Ormond Beach-area gas station.

The masked suspect entered the Chevron station at 1716 Ocean Shore Blvd. around 9:47 p.m. brandishing a handgun and demanding money from the clerk on duty. The clerk complied and the suspect left.

The suspect is believed to be a white male wearing dark clothing, gloves and a bandana over his face.

The investigation is active and ongoing. Anyone with information about the suspect is asked to contact the Sheriff’s Office at 386-323-0151, email Det. Case update (2/14/23): Three suspects in the Dec. 19 robbery of an Ormond-area gas station have been identified and arrested, with the final suspect taken into custody Friday afternoon.

Detectives used surveillance video from the area, license plate readers, cell data and other evidence to identify 18-year-old Even Stidham and 19-year-olds Tyler Evans and Bradley Fahey as persons of interest in the case. A thorough investigation revealed the trio planned the robbery together.

Stidham was arrested Jan. 20, Evans was arrested Jan. 27, and Fahey was arrested Friday. All three remain in custody at the Volusia County Branch Jail on charges of principal to robbery with a firearm and possession of a firearm by a delinquent.

Stidham was also charged with providing false information to law enforcement during a felony investigation.
