Pedestrian Killed Overnight Crossing Deltona Road

Just before 10 p.m., a pedestrian trying to cross at the intersection of Howland Boulevard and Lake Helen Osteen Road was struck by an SUV.

Unfortunately, the pedestrian (a 66-year-old Deltona woman) was pronounced deceased on scene by Deltona Fire Rescue.

Witnesses told deputies that the driver had a green light and never saw the woman trying to cross the intersection. The victim's family was notified and a crash investigation is underway.
