One Injured In Ormond-Area Shooting; Suspect Arrested

Detectives are investigating a shooting that injured a man in the Ormond Beach area Monday night.

Deputies responded to a report of a person shot around 7:42 p.m. at a house on the 1900 block of Linville Road, Ormond Beach.

The victim, a 36-year-old man, was transported to an area hospital for treatment of one gunshot wound to his abdomen and a grazing wound to his head. He was expected to survive his injuries.

An initial investigation indicates the victim was shot during a confrontation with two male suspects who showed up at his house to dispute a personal matter.

The suspects have not been taken into custody at this time. The investigation is active, and an update will be posted when available.

Case update (11/27/24):

Anthony Pezza (DOB 10/9/1998) was arrested in Palatka on Tuesday night on his Volusia County warrants charging him with attempted murder, aggravated battery with a firearm, firing into an occupied dwelling, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. He is in custody in the Putnam County Jail with no bond. The investigation remains active and ongoing.
