Dog daycare owner charged with voyeurism after bathroom camera discovered

A doggy daycare owner is in custody after a hidden camera was discovered in the bathroom at Dog Dayz Inn near New Smyrna Beach.
Deputies responded to the facility at 1765 Edgewater Canal Road on Saturday after employees discovered the camera hidden in an electrical outlet. Detectives with the VSO Child Exploitation Unit responded to execute a search warrant and conduct an investigation.
Donald Hemphill, 59, admitted to installing the camera 4 to 5 months ago. Multiple video files capturing unknowing female subjects in stages of undress were discovered on his phone. One of the subjects was a child.
Hemphill is charged with 10 counts of digital voyeurism and 11 counts of video voyeurism of a child. He is currently held in the Volusia County Branch Jail with no bond.
