CASE UPDATE: SUSPECT WANTED FOR 2ND DEGREE MURDER

VSO Major Case detectives have obtained an arrest warrant charging JOEL ALONZO-CISNEROS with second-degree murder in the December 2023 homicide of Hector Hernandez-Pasquale.

Cisneros (DOB 8/8/1987) is pictured here. His location is unknown at this time. Anyone with information about his whereabouts is asked to contact the Sheriff's Office.

DELAND SHOOTING DEATH UNDER INVESTIGATION

Volusia sheriff’s detectives are investigating the Saturday night shooting death of a DeLand man and are seeking potential witnesses who may have information.

Deputies responded to a 911 call around 10:45 p.m. Saturday reporting the incident. The caller found the adult male victim unconscious in the front yard of 808 S. Massachusetts Ave., DeLand.

It was determined the victim, 50-year-old Hector Hernandez Pasquale, had been shot. He was pronounced deceased on scene.

No suspect is in custody at this time. Detectives are actively investigating and pursuing potential leads.

No further information is available for release at this point in the active investigation, but updates will be released as the investigation allows.
