3 charged in reckless NYE shooting that sent bullet into bedroom

This is the bullet hole left in a DeLand-area home after someone decided to fire off several rounds in Daytona Park Estates on New Year's Eve.

A family of 4 was asleep around midnight when they heard multiple gunshots coming from a neighboring property. Pieces of drywall scattered across the bedroom.

A bullet was found under the pillow where a woman was sleeping.

Deputies found five bullet holes on the exterior of the house.

Deputies arrested Axel Gomez, 21, DeLeon Springs, on a charge of shooting into an occupied dwelling. Two others (Amy Gomez and Ken Newbold, both 25) who also fired shots during this NYE celebration are facing charges of recklessly discharging a firearm in a residential area.
