Two Arrested For Defrauding Customers Through Their Remodeling Business

TWO ARRESTED FOR DEFRAUDING CUSTOMERS THROUGH THEIR REMODELING BUSINESS  

On today’s date at approximately 1400hrs Port Orange Police Department Detective Bureau obtained arrest warrants for a Timothy Lee Akins and Deborah Kay Entrekin. Timothy Akins and Deborah Entrekin were arrested in reference to several fraud cases reported in 2015 to the Port Orange Police Department. The Port Orange Police Department Detective division has been investigating the subjects that operated a business, Kitchen, Bath and Beyond, LLC between January 2010 and November 2015. During the year of 2015 it was reported that the two subjects were taking large deposit amounts for a kitchen or bath remodeling job and not returning to perform the work. Customers were provided several excuses as to the reasons for the delays in the work being completed. At this time 16 individual victims have been identified and more may be forthcoming. Majority of the victims are the age of 65 or older. The couple had collected over $200,000.00 from victims, failing to complete any of the promised jobs. There are at least six additional sub-contractors/vendors that were not compensated for materials in the amount of at least $68,000.00.

Timothy Akins and Deborah Entrekin are both criminally charged with Organizing a scheme to defraud in an amount of over $50,000.00. Timothy Akins has been transported to Volusia County Brach Jail with a set bond of $250,000.00. Deborah Entrekin has been transported to the Volusia County Branch Jail with a set bond of $200,000.00.
