FOUR TEENAGERS, AGES 13, 14 AND 16 ARRESTED FOR ARMED HOME INVASION

On 09/29/20 at 1:46pm, Port Orange Police Department officers responded to 1200 Floral Springs Blvd. apartment number 30-102 for an armed home invasion that had just occurred. A nearby resident called 911 after hearing a commotion in the apartment.

Four (4) juvenile males: Amarion Franklin (16), Mikel Debose (13), Tyquavion Ramsey (14), and Darren Brown (13) were arrested for armed home-invasion robbery after attempting to enter the residents’ apartment.  Franklin was able to gain entry into the apartment—armed with a loaded 9mm handgun (that had been reported stolen out of Deland) in an unsuccessful attempt to rob the residents. The victims were able to disarm Franklin, and detain him until officers arrived on scene. The remaining juveniles fled from the apartment complex in an SUV, but were stopped shortly thereafter, at the apartment entrance, by Port Orange officers. The driver (Debose) was additionally charged with fleeing and eluding and driving without a license.

Upon further investigation, Franklin was additionally charged by Deland PD with armed burglary and theft of the firearm.

Franklin and Brown were both on felony probation prior to the incident. All four juveniles were transported to the Department of Juvenile Justice.

This was a coordinated effort by multiple divisions within the Port Orange Police Department.
