PORT ORANGE MAN ARRESTED ON FELONY WARRANT FOR AGGRAVATED ASSAULT

On July 17, 2020 officers attempted to make contact with Christopher Verity (02/27/1981), who resides at 5722 Riverside Dr. in Port Orange. Verity had a felony warrant in reference to aggravated assault with a deadly weapon as well as a battery charge.

Upon officer’s informing Verity of his warrant, Verity fled on foot and subsequently barricaded himself inside his residence.

After several hours of negotiation attempts with no response, the Port Orange Police Department Emergency Response Team responded to the location and successfully extricated Verity from his residence without incident.

Verity was then placed under arrest, and transported to the Volusia County Branch Jail with an $11,000.00 bond.
