 SUSPECTED CARJACKERS KILLED IN CRASH

On December 12, 2018, at approximately 2228 hours, Port Orange Police responded to the area of City Center Drive and Clyde Morris Boulevard, Port Orange, in reference to a single motor vehicle crash.  The vehicle occupants were suspects in a carjacking that took place in Daytona Beach.  It was located in Port Orange and multiple law enforcement agencies were involved in trying to apprehend the suspects.  Ultimately, the fleeing vehicle crashed on City Center Drive just east of Clyde Morris Boulevard.  When officers located the vehicle, both occupants were found inside.  Port Orange Fire Rescue and Volusia County Fire Rescue responded to render aid.

One occupant was transported by EVAC to Halifax Hospital where he was pronounced deceased.

One occupant was airlifted by VCSO Air One to Halifax Hospital where he was pronounced deceased.

The investigation is ongoing and is being conducted by Port Orange Police Department Traffic Homicide Investigators.  An autopsy is pending.
