The suspect was identified as Mark Thomas Wardell and the Port Orange Police Department has an active Volusia County Warrant for him reference Robbery without a Weapon.

PORT ORANGE WELLS FARGO BANK ROBBED

On November 21, 2018 at approximately 3:55 pm Port Orange Police responded to Wells Fargo Bank located at 3860 Nova Rd, Port Orange in reference to a robbery.  Upon arriving on scene officers learned that a male arrived at the bank and passed a note to the teller implying that he had a firearm and then verbally demanded money. The male was described as an older white male, thin build, possibly bald, with no facial hair. He was wearing dark athletic shorts, a white t-shirt and a gray baseball cap.  Money was passed to the male and he left the bank on foot.  There were no reported injuries.

Port Orange Detectives responded to the scene and are actively working this investigation.  Anyone with information regarding this robbery is asked to contact Detective Jim Kenny at 386-506-5883.
