SKIMMING DEVICE FOUND AT KANGAROO EXPRESS ON DUNLAWTON

On April 30, 2018, the Port Orange Police Department responded to the Kangaroo Express at 1591 Dunlawton Ave., after a customer observed possible tampering with a gas pump.  All the pumps at this location were subsequently checked, and a skimming device was in-fact found attached to a pump.  The device was seized and will be processed for evidence.

The pumps were last checked by management on Sunday 04/29/18 at about 1:00 pm, when they were found to be tamper-free. Although the device appears to be one that stores information until retrieved in-person, the Port Orange Police Department encourages all consumers who paid at-the-pump with a credit/debit card at this location between 1:00pm on 04/29/18 to 11:00am on 04/30/18, to please check your accounts for any unusual activity. Please report any apparent fraudulent activity to POPD by calling the Volusia County Central Dispatch Center at (386) 248-1777.

If you wish to remain anonymous, call Crime Stoppers at 1-888-277-TIPS (8477) or you can text your tip by texting “TIP231” plus your message to CRIMES (274637). We don’t want your name; just your information and you could be eligible for a reward up to $5,000.00.
