OFFICER INVOLVED IN MOTOR VEHICLE ACCIDENT

At approximately 1:30 a.m. this morning, a Port Orange Police Officer was involved in an accident with another vehicle near the intersection of Madeline Ave. and Nova Rd. Our officer was transported to Halifax Hospital with non-life threatening injuries and has since been treated and released. A passenger in the second vehicle was also transported with what were considered to be non-life threatening injuries.

The Florida Highway Patrol responded to the scene and is conducting the crash investigation.
