ROAD RAGE INCIDENT UNDER INVESTIGATION

On October 21, 2017 at approximately 7:33 pm Port Orange Police responded to the area of Devon Street and Taylor Road, Port Orange, reference to a subject shooting into an occupied motor vehicle. Upon the arrival of the Port Orange Department, officers met with the reporting party who advised that another vehicle traveling near her on Clyde Morris Boulevard and Taylor Road was upset that her vehicle’s headlights were shining in his windows. The suspect and victim were stopped at the traffic signal at Clyde Morris Boulevard and Taylor Road when the suspect approached the victim’s vehicle. The victim drove off and the suspect followed her. As she turned left onto Devon Street, she heard a “pop.”

Upon her arrival at a nearby friend’s house, she noticed her back window was shattered and called the police. As the officers investigated they located a bullet hole in the headliner and a projectile was recovered.

The suspect vehicle is described as a small, dark colored, older model pickup truck. The truck may have a rear sliding glass window with an unknown type sticker on the window. The suspect is described as a white male in his mid-30’s with facial hair wearing a white t-shirt and a hat. There was a passenger in the vehicle that had a sleeve tattoo on their right arm. It is unknown if the passenger in the suspect vehicle was a male or female.

This incident remains under investigation by the Port Orange Police Department.
