Orlando-Area Teen Shot During Drug Transaction in Deltona; Victim Critical

ORLANDO TEEN SHOT DURING DRUG TRANSACTION IN DELTONA

An Orlando-area man was shot multiple times early Saturday after he had arranged a narcotics transaction near the Deltona skaing rink at 1680 Doyle Road.

Preliminary investigation indicates the 19-year-old victim was shot by someone in the suspect vehicle as he approached shortly before 4 a.m. Saturday. The vehicle then fled the area.

The victim was driven by friends to AdventHealth Fish Memorial Hospital in Orange City and later transferred to Central Florida Regional Hospital in Sanford. The victim remains in critical condition.

Volusia sheriff's detectives are investigating the incident.
