DELAND MAN KILLED IN SINGLE VEHICLE ACCIDENT

On Sunday December 20, 2020 at approximately 12:53 AM, Orange City Police and Fire Rescue responded to Veterans Memorial Parkway and Monastery Ave in reference to a single motor vehicle crash. Officers arrived on scene and observed a Chevy S-10 pick-up truck that had left the road for unknown reasons and subsequently overturned. The driver of the pick-up truck was ejected from the vehicle and was pronounced deceased on scene by the Orange City Fire Department.

The driver was identified as 29-year-old Hayden T. Hatcher of DeLand. The roadway was shut down at for several hours due to the crash.   

The Volusia County Medical Examiner’s Office responded and took custody of the body. An autopsy is scheduled for Sunday 12/20/2020.
