SKYDIVIER INJURED IN EARLY MORNING JUMP

Police responded shortly after 8 a.m. to the area about two miles south of Skydive DeLand after a group of skydivers apparently veered off course from their intended landing zone at the airport due to weather conditions. The skydivers are believed to be from the Qatar Skydive team and were training this morning.

At least one skydiver suffered what appears to be some broken bones (possibly broken arm and pelvis) after they apparently got tangled in some trees. The injured skydiver was treated and transported to Halifax Health Medical Center in Daytona Beach. That skydiver was found near East Minnesota and North McDonald Avenue.

Three other skydivers were found nearby at DeLand High School. They were not injured.
