Update: 2:17 p.m.
The gunshot victim in this case has been identified as Delvaughn Robinson DOB: 04/3/00. Please note the age of the victim is 18, not 17 as previously reported.

Update: 10:37 a.m.
The victim from this morning's shooting has passed away. The victim has been identified as Michael L. Dixon, 22 (DOB: 7/6/95), of DeLand. The investigation is ongoing and Police Chief Jason Umberger will update the media at 1 p.m. today.

POLICE INVESTIGATING SHOOTING ON AMBROSE ST, DELAND

Police responded around 04:52 a.m. to 612 Ambrose St., DeLand for the report of shots fired. Upon arrival Police found a male who had been shot. One other person had been in the home and was uninjured.

The victim was transported to Florida Hospital DeLand for his injuries. K-9 units from Edgewater Police Department and New Smyrna Police Department also responded to assist in the search for a suspect. 

The investigation is on going at this time and more information will be released as it comes available.
