Sky Diver Injured In Hard Landing

UPDATE: 3:55 p.m.

A sky diver was injured Wednesday morning after he hit his head on the plane while jumping out.

The sky diver was found shortly after 11:30 a.m. near Eidson Drive and DaVita Way. When police arrived, he told them he hit his head after jumping out of the plane and only remembered waking up on the ground. 

The 35-year-old sky diver suffered minor injuries but was transported via Air One helicopter to Halifax Health Medical Center in Daytona Beach.

SKY DIVER INJURED IN HARD LANDING

DeLand Police Wednesday morning responded to a report of an injured sky diver.

The sky diver, who is not being identified at this time, was transported via Air One helicopter to Halifax Health Medical Center in Daytona Beach after a hard landing in an area northwest of DeLand Municipal Airport.

The sky diver's injuries are unknown at this time and police are trying to determine what led to the hard landing.
