ARREST MADE IN ROBBERY NEAR SHA-DE-LAND

Police have arrested a 26-year-old DeLand man in connection to a robbery that occurred Saturday night. Brandon Dunn, 26, was charged with robbery with a firearm/deadly weapon and wearing a bulletproof vest during a crime after a man identified as Francisco Chivatanlian told authorities he was robbed by three black males as he was walking on South Florida Avenue from the Sha-De-Land mobile home park Saturday night.

Chivatanlian told police one of the males hit him in the head with a gun while the others hit him with another object before taking his phone. During the struggle, the victim was able to hold onto a black sweater of one of the suspects as they ran off. A witness to the incident corroborated the victim's account.

As police talked to the victim, they found a male, later identified as Dunn, who matched the description given by the victim and was later visibly identified on two separate occasions by the victim.

When Dunn was transported to the police department, authorities found he was wearing body armor. Dunn later denied involvement in the crime. The investigation is ongoing as detectives continue to search for the other two suspects.
