DeLand Police have arrested Gerald Caesar Jr., 24, of Daytona Beach, in connection to a shooting that occurred July 31.
He was charged with attempted first-degree murder, carjacking with a firearm and kidnapping.

Update: 2:56 p.m.
The shooting victim has been identified as 44-year-old Daniel Garcia Agosto of Deltona. He has been released from the hospital.
Detectives are still investigating where the shooting occurred.

Update: 2:55 p.m.
The gunshot victim was airlifted to Halifax Health Medical Center in Daytona Beach. His injuries are not considered life-threatening and he is listed in stable condition.
DeLand Police are still trying to determine the man’s identity as well as the location of where the shooting occurred.

POLICE INVESTIGATING SHOOTING AFTER MAN SHOWS UP AT HOSPITAL WITH MULTIPLE GUNSHOT WOUNDS
Police are investigating a shooting after a man showed up to a local hospital with multiple gunshot wounds.
DeLand Police responded at about 11:40 a.m. Monday after receiving a call that a man had been shot and was in the parking lot at Florida Hospital DeLand. The 44-year-old male had suffered multiple gunshot wounds and was airlifted by the Volusia County Sheriff’s Office Air-One helicopter to an area hospital. The extent of his injuries are unknown at this time.
Detectives are also trying to determine where the shooting occurred.
