A preliminary investigation has found that Diaz left on his own accord and drove to Daytona Beach.
The family is on the way to pick him and the van up.

Ruben Melendez Diaz has been found near Joe's Crab Shack in Daytona Beach. We are working to gather details. If we have any additional updates we will send them out.

The missing man has been identified as 71-year-old Ruben Melendez Diaz. He was last seen wearing a green shirt and tan pants. He also has had a leg amputated.

DELAND POLICE LOOKING FOR MISSING ELDERLY MAN
DeLand Police are seeking the public’s help with finding a van that was reported stolen and possibly had an elderly, disabled man inside at the time.
The vehicle, a 2000 Dodge Voyager van with a Florida license tag of HQGT73, was reported stolen around 3:30 p.m. from the area of Laisey Drive and East Volusia Avenue. Police believe a 71-year-old man was inside the vehicle when it was stolen.
The van was last spotted on a traffic cam in Daytona Beach.
Anyone who sees the vehicle is urged to call 911.
