VSO DETECTIVES INVESTIGATING AFTER DELAND MAN, 28, SHOT IN FAILED DRUG DEAL

Volusia sheriff’s detectives are investigating a drug-related shooting that occurred in DeLand, leaving a 28-year-old man recovering from a gunshot wound to his chest.

Deputies responded to a call in the 1200 block of Boston Avenue around 7:30 p.m. Thursday. They located the victim, who had been shot after an apparent failed drug transaction.

The victim was transported to a hospital by Air 1 with injuries that are not considered life-threatening. He remains in stable condition.
