6 ARRESTED IN HOLLY HILL NARCOTICS INVESTIGATION AT NUISANCE ADDRESS

Members of the East Volusia Narcotics Task Force made several arrests and seized fentanyl, meth, and more yesterday at a Holly Hill residence that has been the subject of multiple complaints from neighbors and city officials.

Residents on Flomich Street have expressed concerns of drug activity and trespassing at a vacant home in their community. While city staff and commissioners have been diligently working on solutions to resolve this quality of life issue for the community through court action, over the past week and a half, Volusia Sheriff’s Office detectives, with the assistance of Holly Hill police, have been conducting undercover operations and surveillance at 618 Flomich, including controlled purchases of narcotics.

On Wednesday, detectives detained several people at the house and made 6 arrests on narcotics and other charges.

"I think we sent a message that we are not going to stand for this, and we're going to do our best to eradicate this type of behavior," Sheriff Mike Chitwood said of the blatant criminal activity and narcotics traffic.

The suspected supplier, 20-year-old Jahmall Collins (DOB 9/7/2003), was arrested on scene. In his vehicle, detectives found 24 grams of fentanyl, a .223 AR pistol, a Glock 17 9mm pistol, ammunition for both, and several hundred dollars in cash.

Collins was charged with armed trafficking in fentanyl, possession of a weapon and ammunition by a convicted felon, resisting an officer without violence, possession of narcotic paraphernalia, driving with a suspended license and attaching an unassigned tag. He was also charged with violation of his probation for a prior charge of resisting an officer with violence.

Others arrested on scene were:

Paul Mellette Jr. (DOB 1/16/1980): Sale of fentanyl

James Stevens (DOB 5/3/1970): Carrying a concealed weapon

Sean Remberg (DOB 10/17/1971): Possession of methamphetamine, possession of paraphernalia

Clinton Golden (DOB 3/5/1976): Possession of fentanyl

Donathan Evans (DOB 7/9/2004): Possession of methamphetamine, possession of paraphernalia

The City of Holly Hill is continuing to work on permanent solutions, including foreclosure and condemnation, to prevent future criminal activity at the property. Said Holly Hill Mayor Chris Via: "I just want to say that we will not stop until this issue is permanently resolved, and this house is reclaimed for our community so that it is safe again."

Ongoing narcotics investigations are continuing. The East Volusia Narcotics Task Force is a joint effort between members of VSO and the Ormond Beach Police Department, Holly Hill Police Department, Port Orange Police Department, City Of Edgewater Police Department, and New Smyrna Beach Police Department.
