Detectives Investigating Fatal Shooting Overnight In DeLand Area

Volusia sheriff’s detectives are investigating the death of a man who was found shot overnight in the DeLand area.

Deputies responded to the 300 block of Chipola Avenue, DeLand, when the shooting was reported around 1:55 a.m. Sunday. The victim was found lying in the road. A DeLand police officer who was first to arrive attempted CPR, but the victim was ultimately pronounced deceased on scene.

The victim was identified as 29-year-old Korey Woulard, who was living in the DeLand area with no permanent address.

No suspect is in custody at this time. Detectives are continuing to investigate and pursue potential leads.
