DeBary Drug House Raided, Deemed Uninhabitable, 6 Arrested

DEBARY DRUG HOUSE RAIDED, DEEMED UNINHABITABLE, 6 ARRESTED

A group of 14 people came out of a deplorable DeBary drug house this week when it was raided by Volusia deputies and task force detectives and boarded up by the city.

The early-morning raid following a lengthy narcotics investigation at 3 Amigos Road, DeBary, revealed the occupants were using makeshift electrical lines powered by a generator.

The Sheriff’s Office had received numerous complaints and tips about the houes, including from the mayor and city manager of DeBary.

An investigation was launched in August, and multiple buys of methamphetamine and heroin occurred at the residence. Members of VSO SWAT, the West Volusia Narcotics Task Force, the Deltona Narcotics Enforcement Team and Volusia Bureau of Investigation coordinated execution of a search warrant Wednesday morning that resulted in 6 arrests.

City code enforcement and the building official responded to the scene at the request of the WVNTF. The residence was deemed an uninhabitable structure due to unsafe and unsanitary conditions. DeBary officials barricaded the property and boarded up all the windows and doors.
