PEDESTRIAN DIES AFTER BEING HIT BY A TRAIN IN PORT ORANGE

On December 31, 2016 at approximately 20:55 PM, the Port Orange Police Department responded to Nova Rd and FEC railroad tracks, Port Orange; in reference to a pedestrian that was hit by a train. Upon arriving on scene, officers discovered that a white male had been struck by the train and did not survive the incident. Through investigative efforts, the male was later identified to be Joseph Ambrose (54). The FEC train that was involved in the incident was stopped on the railroad tracks and the intersection was temporarily shut down during the police investigation.
