                                     WOMAN ARRESTED FOR LEAVING THE SCENE OF AN ACCIDENT                                

On Thursday, July 28th, the Port Orange Police Department Motors division served an arrest warrant on Heather Leonard (04/18/1983) for leaving the scene of a crash involving serious bodily injury.

The accident, which resulted in a 16 y/o female suffering multiple serious injuries, occurred on Sunday, July 24th, at approximately 10:00 pm in the 3600-block of Nova Rd. A tip provided by a Good Samaritan led to the suspect vehicle being located and the eventual arrest of Heather Leonard. The victim remains hospitalized with serious injuries; however, her condition is stable.

Per Florida Sunshine law, the crash report will not be available for release for 60 days from  the date of the crash.
