Update: 2:10 p,m.
At approximately 1:15 p.m., Thomas Higinbotham (w/m, 05/28/1966) was arrested near Edgewater, FL by the Port Orange Police Department. Higinbotham has been charged with 1st Degree Attempted Murder x 2, Shooting into a Occupied Residence, Armed Burglary, and Possession of a Firearm While Committing a Felony.

POLICE SEARCHING FOR SHOOTING SUSPECT
The Port Orange Police Department is currently investigating a shooting that occurred at 11:49 hrs on 07-11-16, in the 5400 Block of Frederick Lake Dr in the city of Port Orange. The suspect, Thomas Higginbotham shot another male, Adam Wellman at his residence. Adam Wellman was with Kathryn Higginbotham who is currently separated from her husband, Thomas Higginbotham. Higginbotham ascertained the location of Kathryn Higginbotham and confronted the pair in the pool and fired shots at Adam Wellman and Kathryn Higginbotham. Adam Wellman managed to run from the pool as Timothy Higginbotham gave chase continuing to discharge his firearm toward Adam Wellman. Adam Wellman ran through his house and ran out the front door to a neighbor’s residence for help. Adam Wellman had been struck in the arm causing non-life threatening injury. Thomas Higginbotham fled the scene prior to officer’s arrival. It is believed Timothy Higginbotham left on a black Honda motorcycle.
