ORANGE CITY WOMAN KILLED IN TWO-VEHICLE ACCIDENT

On Wednesday October 08, 2020 at approximately 1:20 PM, Orange City Police and Fire Rescue responded to North Volusia Ave and East Michigan Ave in reference to a motor vehicle crash. Officers arrived on scene and observed a passenger vehicle and an overturned dump truck involved. The driver of the passenger vehicle was pronounced deceased on scene by the Orange City Fire Department. The deceased was identified as 62-year-old Aurelia Henderson of Orange City. The driver of the dump truck was transported to Deland Hospital for non-life threatening injuries.North Volusia Avenue was shut down at Minnesota Avenue for approximately 3 hours due to the investigation. 

The Volusia County Medical Examiner’s Office responded and took custody of the body.An autopsy is scheduled for Thursday 10/09/2020.
