ONE KILLED, TWO INJURED IN APPARENT SHOOTING

The DeLand Police Department is investigating an apparent shooting that left one person dead and two people injured.

Officers responded shortly after 7:30 p.m. Saturday to reports of shots fired in the 800 block of Valleydale Avenue. One person was pronounced dead at the scene; the other gunshot victims were transported to an area hospital.

Detectives are still investigating the cause of the shooting, but it is believed to have occurred at a large party.
