The motorcyclist has been identified as Jonathan Lee Swallows, 30 (DOB: 8/7/87), of DeLand.

Swallows was employed for a short time in 2011 with the DeLand Police Department.

DELAND POLICE INVESTIGATING FATAL CRASH INVOLVING MOTORCYCLIST

DeLand Police are investigating a Thursday afternoon crash that killed a motorcyclist.

Officers responded at 2:40 p.m. to a crash at the intersection of North Boston and East Wisconsin Avenue after a motorcycle and passenger car collided.

The motorcyclist, who is not being identified pending notification of next of kin, died of his injuries at the scene. The driver of the car was uninjured.

The crash remains under investigation and more information will be released as it becomes available.
