Born in New Haven, Connecticut, this second-generation law enforcement officer has dedicated his life to public service, leadership, and community involvement. He is married and proud father of five children and grandfather to four. He holds a Bachelor's Degree in Organizational Management from Warner University and began his career in 1988, graduating from both the Daytona State College Law Enforcement Academy and the Emergency Medical Technician program.
Since 1989, he has served with distinction in the Volusia Sheriff’s Office, where he currently holds the position of Assistant Chief. Throughout his tenure, his assignments have spanned a wide range of operational and administrative areas, including patrol, civil, court services, anti-crime, motors, SWAT, honor guard, internal affairs, fugitive extraditions, narcotics, and detective divisions. He has also served as an instructor and eventually the director at the agency’s Training Academy. His exemplary service has earned him numerous honors, including commendations for valor and merit, Deputy of the Quarter, Detective of the Quarter, and recognition as American Legion Officer of the Year.
His commitment to leadership development is reflected in his extensive educational achievements, including graduation from the 17th session of the Senior Leadership Program at the Florida Criminal Justice Executive Institute (2014); the Certified Public Supervisor (2019) and Certified Public Manager (2020) programs through the Florida Center for Public Management at Florida State University; the 78th session of the Senior Management Institute for Police (2021); and the National Command and Staff College’s “Authentic and Deliberate Leadership: The West Point Way” program (2024). He is also a proud member of the Police Executive Research Forum (PERF), a national organization dedicated to advancing policing through innovation and research.
Beyond law enforcement, he remains deeply engaged in his local community, having served on the Board of Directors for DeLand Little League and as a former Captain of the DeLand Quarterback Club. His career reflects a steadfast dedication to both professional excellence and civic responsibility.
